Sutter Creek Observatory roll off roof

The observatory building is a roll off roof design.  The building and roof are built with standard construction techniques and specifications.  The only real difference is that on the top of the walls are mounted a steel track that extends 14' beyond the north wall on beams that support it.  The roof is built on a truck with 12 steel wheels that roll on the track allowing the roof to roll to the north.
