Installing SC50 in observatory

The mounting was partially assembled in the garage on a table saw so it could be moved around.

Here we winched it off the table saw onto the bed of my pickup to move it to the observatory.

After some work we moved the winch to the observatory roof to raise it to the observing floor level.

Another move, and the RA housing base was set on the pier

Here, the mount is in place, the Declination housing and shaft are mounted.

After using the mount for about 2 years with an 18" Newtonian, I changed the OTA to a 20" Planewave CDK, a considerable improvement.

This is the business end of the telescope with camera, filter wheel and electronics to run everything.
